How to compare flight fares from Lagos
Flight prices change often. A few simple checks can help you find a fare that is genuinely good value.
1. Be flexible with dates
Fares can vary a lot from one day to the next. If you can leave a day earlier or later, check those dates too. Many booking sites have a calendar or "flexible dates" view that shows the cheapest days at a glance.
2. Compare one-way and return fares
Sometimes two one-way tickets cost less than one return ticket, especially on routes with several airlines. Check both options before you decide.
3. Add up the extras
- Checked baggage can cost more than the seat itself on budget fares.
- Seat selection, meals and card payment fees may be extra.
- Changing or cancelling a ticket can be expensive, so check the rules first.
Compare the total you will pay, not just the fare shown at the start.
4. Check more than one site
Look at the airline's own website and at least one booking site. Prices can differ, and the airline's site sometimes has deals that aren't listed elsewhere.
5. Watch the price for a few days
If you're not ready to book, note the fare and check again over the next few days. Prices can rise quickly close to the departure date, so don't wait too long if you've found a fair price for your trip.
6. Check the rules before you pay
Look at the refund and change policy, the name on the ticket (it must match your ID exactly) and the baggage allowance for your route.
Check the deal list for current travel offers. Each deal opens the provider's own website, so check the final price there before you pay.
